Quantum Key Distribution

Quantum Key Distribution

Quantum Communication Internet QKD in Europe

An internet infrastructure based on quantum communication (QKD – Quantum Key Distribution) can be accessed in 4-10 years in the EU to reinforce Europe’s global position at the forefront of quantum communication technology and its capabilities. The integration of quantum-safe digital infrastructure across the European internet landscape is on the way to its end-users and citizens. For Abragod the quantum internet and QKD is a perfect and secure network to accomplish quantum-safe data storage and digital sovereignty (to send/receive fragmented data between different computers, offices and locations).

What is quantum key distribution?

Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) provides a quantum-safe flow of secret digital cryptographic keys between two locations in a computer network and is therefore ideal for quantum-safe storage and exchange of data fragments (secret sharing scheme). The security of Quantum Key Distribution is based on the properties of single photons - which are transmitted by using regular and existing optical fibers. The nature of the photons themselves ensures that each attempt (even by a quantum computer) to intercept a QKD-protected datalink by copying or reading changes the state of the photons and is thus immediately detectable. This natural quantum effect makes it impossible to compromise the symmetric key exchange without destroying the data information for the intended receiver. QKD is superior and quantum-safe compared to other existing security technologies, especially against quantum computing. QKD is an extremely potent safety technique for data in transit, and moreover excellent for Abragod storage appliances delivering information-theoretic security for data file storage in different public and/or hybrid S3 buckets. It is a fact that this fantastic QKD technology, its high costs and initial limited physical distances between two points of a QKD connection, has so far only been used to protect highly sensitive data in super-critical industries such as defense, finance, critical infrastructure, military and, beginning as of now, healthcare. We are very happy to welcome the European quantum communication infrastructure, internet for every citizen to protect the privacy and personal data of individuals, companies and organizations!
